talked about an article with one of my peers. it ended with ‘the solution of changing the situation is to educate people’ (in third-world countries, specifically) . I said that I agreed, but it’s always problematic when thinking about ‘taking what I’ve learned in the first world to educate my people in the third world’. It’s always problematic. But, what else can we do? My friend said, ‘True, but most knowledge and theories came from the first world countries. Even if we generate our own knowledge of the third world, will it be used, or accepted in the dominant academia?’
what to say? The politics of Knowledge.
